As enterprises keep shifting toward cloud-based collaboration, Q3 Technologies is seeing a steady rise in demand for SharePoint migration and modernization workEnterprise demand for SharePoint migration and development work has climbed steadily through 2026. Q3 Technologies says the shift is less about any single trigger than a broader move toward cloud-based collaboration that has been building for several years. Mordor Intelligence values the global content services platforms market, the category that includes enterprise collaboration and document management tools such as Microsoft SharePoint, at USD 88.25 billion in 2026, projecting 12.94% annual growth to USD 162.16 billion by 2031 as enterprises shift away from on-premises systems toward cloud-native platforms.
Q3 Technologies, a global enterprise IT and artificial intelligence services provider with 25+ years of delivery experience, says the enquiries reaching its SharePoint Development Services practice today look different from a few years ago. Fewer clients are asking for a like-for-like migration. More are asking to rebuild the environment around how the business actually works now.
Most of the SharePoint environments we get asked to work on today were never designed for what the business has become, said Gaurav Kothari, Vice President of Engineering at Q3 Technologies. The technical migration is almost the easy part. The harder conversation is figuring out which workflows are still worth keeping and which ones only existed because nobody had time to fix them the first time around.
Q3's SharePoint Development Services cover the areas enterprises are asking for most directly. business workflow development and automation, custom SharePoint Framework (SPFx) application development, document management system builds, AI-driven SharePoint Workflows and SharePoint's integration with Power Automate and other Microsoft 365 tools.
For organizations still running SharePoint on-premises, that also includes migrating existing sites, permissions, and content into SharePoint Online. For organizations that already moved but never finished customizing the result, it includes the .NET-based development and customization work to make the new environment match how the business operates day to day.
That range shows up across engagements Q3 Technologies has already delivered. For a global foodservices company operating in more than 50 countries with over 500,000 employees, Q3 Technologies migrated an on-premises SharePoint 2013 intranet portal to Office 365, rebuilding it as a fully customizable dashboard with knowledge management, meeting room booking, and workflow tracking built in.
For a consumer goods company, Q3 Technologies built a SharePoint portal that pulls budget data from SAP to automate approval workflows for new funding requests. For a US-based business and technology consulting firm, they developed a SharePoint-based lead tracking system to help the client identify and prioritize new business opportunities from its lead database. None of the three started as the same kind of project, one was a full platform migration, one was a workflow automation build, one was a custom application, but all three ran through the same team and the same underlying SharePoint expertise.
Q3 Technologies has also been advising clients on where SharePoint work is heading next. In guidance the company has published for clients evaluating SharePoint partners, the company points to AI fluency as an increasingly deciding factor. "SharePoint isn't a build-and-forget platform, and that's becoming more true, not less, as AI features get added to it," said Anuj Mathur, Chief Executive Officer at Q3 Technologies.
